Well... it has been a while since I last used my blog.
Previous posts, a 17 year-old girl wanting to have a go at writing a blog just like the ones she used to read at night before bed written by famous influencers. However, 5 years later I still love a good blog read here and there, but I want to use this as a place more like a journal if you will. As a matter of fact, I smiled reading them back and thinking how different things were, Since 2016, I have completed a teaching degree at Northumbria University, left home to move to Newcastle, visited the city of my dreams - New York and worked at my first 'real' job in a fantastic school to mention just a few. In fact, speaking of jobs things are changing again - for the better. In September, I officially will have a class of children referring to their new class teacher - Miss Byrne! Although, my teaching career didn't start how I thought it might last year after I graduated, I have had experiences and have gained knowledge in ways I couldn't have at the front of the classroom. With the current Corona Virus pandemic I was so worried about the real reality of going into a new academic year jobless. However, I have recently been offered a dream job in a great school - and honestly I am over the moon. In fact, I feel very proud of myself. Teaching has always been what I wanted, I used to want to play schools too many times when I was younger! Tonight, I have been thinking about what is to come - thinking about it makes me feel anxious but excited for the upcoming challenge. So, as I go to make another list and read another document that I think I need to help me prepare, I basically wanted to write this to remind myself and to anyone who needs to hear it - life is rewarding and working hard eventually pays off! If any teachers happen to read this, any advice would be fantastic! Stay safe, R

I'm back! I've been gone so long but I've been so busy but I'm back on the ball now 😀 At the end of Feburary I went on a sixth form trip to Paris, even though we didn't do much educational oops! 😛 We had such a good time even though there was only 5 people in my year that went, we had 2 days in the park and it was so magical!!! ✨ Also we had such amazing food and I can't even 😍 Can we take a moment for the parade and fireworks because omg 😭✨ Me and Georgia got way to emotional and got such a cute photo!! The trip was amazing and I loved it because I felt like such a big kid 😀😀 I'm gonna add some of my fave photos below 💁🏼 It's been so long since I posted and it's not going to happen again!
Rachel 💚 Leeds is so nice! Honestly, I had such a good 2 days there. My mam, nan and I took the train to Leeds on Sunday just for a night in a very fancy hotel actually! Having a weekend away is so needed so you can get early Christmas shopping done because I am the most unorganised person ever... Going to bigger towns with more shops is so much better for shopping can you believe there is no Starbucks where I live? My mocha frapachinno went down well even though I don't know how to spell it. Oh, and a stop at the Harvey Nichols cafe was a treat an expensive one but a treat haha. We had such a nice hotel as well even if I had to stay on the most uncomfortable sofa bed ever it was nice and had a gorgeous spa! I spent way to much money on myself which I so shouldn't have but thought I would treat myself and I needed some new warm clothes for Autumn so it's all okay! Apart from my train being cancelled because of flooding at home which was so annoying and we had to do a whole lot of running which is not good when you have 10 bags and your nan with you. I took a few photos though which I'll post underneath but I had such a relaxing girly weekend I loved it! p.s. I've just looked at my photos and most of them are food oops! Rachel x
A week off Sixth Form, OMG YAY It's currently very stressful times so a week off was well needed! I actually did something in the week I had off which I was happy with myself for as I was expecting to lie in bed and binge watch netflix... This may have been done a couple of days, not even sorry haha! Saturday, I had a cute night in with my friends awww Chinese and catch up night is always a good thing after a week at Sixth Form. I swear we bring the weirdest side out in each other as shown by these photos oh god... *insert monkey covering eyes emojji*!! Tuesday when I actually got myself up and out I went to Keswick with my friends and we went to crazy golf. Big kids I know! Even though there's no photo evidence, I won and I'm very proud of it! We also went on the row boats and it was so nice and peaceful although we couldn't row at the beginning :( When we did get the boat moving it was so nice, good photo opportunities as well! Pre-Halloween with Katie was also so cute! We carved pumpkins and they were both actually good if I do say so myself! Chocolate cake and carving pumpkins is exactly how you should spend your Wednesday before Halloween! Saturday was the Halloween party and was a really good night!
I went as a pirate although it was quite a bad attempt I'm just not good at Halloween haha! Eventually getting round to writing a blog post and it might be a long one!
Sorry it has been so long again I need to post more often! Today's blog post is going to be about all the things i was loving in August, being summer I was hoping it would be great as I LOVE summer and... IT WAS! BTW, all of the photos of my favourites will be at the bottom! My first couple of favourites are skincare products as I've been loving having a proper routine and making sure my skin is feeling fab! So, can we talk about the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish please because wow! LOVE. This hot cloth cleanser is one of my all time favourites and throughout August I have been reaching for it almost every day! When i use it my skin feels smooth and this is going to sound odd but clean haha! I love how it makes me feel after I've used it and it is a great product to use when you want to take your make-up off and just chill! (Me almost everyday!) My next August favourite is Simple's 'Kind to eyes revitalising eye roll on' bit of a mouthful to say but so good! This product leaves me feeling fresh faced in the morning when and more woken up which I really need! It has a silver metal ball and it really cools down and refreshes your under eyes. I love this product and I have been using it every day and every night! 100% recommend! On to make-up now and these products were so easy for me to choose as I have been using them always and they have been part of my daily make-up routine for most of the month! Maybeline's new nude range of lipsticks are amazing in my opinion, but I suppose I am a big lover of nude lippys! One of my favourites in August was the shade Rosewood Pearl I LOVE this shade! It is just the right colour for my skin tone I feel and can really pull my make-up together. It is long-lasting and it lasts for a good couple of hours this lipstick also has a slight sparkle in which I love! Next, is my beloved original Naked Palette. I have limited words for how much I love this eye shadow palette. Throughout August even though it has been Summer I have been going for a more darker colour on my eyes I have been loving the shades 'Naked' in the inner corner of my eye, 'Buck' all over my eye lid and then eventually blending in 'Smog' or 'Dark horse' in my crease. There is a black and white photo down below when I had that make-up look on. (Sorry its not the best photo of the eye shadow!) My last make-up favourite of August is my Barry M 'Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit' Before this kit I wasn't a frequent user of contour, I basically just used bronzer. But now... I'm converted! This kit is a powder contour and I particularly like it as it has 3 different colours to use and layer. (Also, the instructions at the top because I'd have had no idea where to put it haha!) I think it defines my face and when it is blended in I think it brings my make-up together and I rarely go without it now! On to my more random favourites of last month... Starting with music favourites, I love music a lot and never go a day without listening to one of my many Spotify playlists! This month though I have been listening to Hilary Duff's new album 'Breathe In Breathe Out' A LOT! My inner childhood fan girl of Lizzie McGuire died when I heard her single 'Sparks' for the first time and couldn't wait for the album and I checked Spotify what felt like 1,000 times before it got released in the UK but when i heard it it was great! I would 100% recommend this album my personal favourites being 'My Kind' and 'Confetti' Go listen, go on! Finally, my photo favourites! This is a weird one actually but I just thought of it because I have some odd photos on my phone of my friends and family which make me giggle and smile! I thought I would share my favourite photos from August with you so enjoy! Rachel xoxo I have wanted to start a blog for a long time, but I had no idea what to write about but I am going to take the plunge.
Firstly, my name is Rachel and I have decided to make my blog about me, what I am liking at different times, big events, problems everything and anything :) I love makeup, beauty and styling so there will be a lot about that but I also have a great family and the best set of friends so there may be some posts about them! I can't wait to start posting each week :) Rachel xoxo (Sorry, I'm a HUGE gossip girl fan and I just had too haha!) |
